A simple whole class marking sheet that can be used for KS2 English. This can then be used to feedback, with this being used effectively for independent writing as it doesn't give specific advice to a specific individual but looks at what has worked well, where to improve and other areas of focus. The PDF version is a simple print and write on sheet while the PowerPoint offers the opportunity to type notes instead.

Simply put a word in the middle and then get children to explore that particular word, including the definition/s, whether they can add prefix or suffixes, what word classes it belongs to, synonyms and antonyms, words they can make from it and any words that they can think that rhyme with it. Not all categories will always be relevant but it will help develop their understanding of a particular word and the branches from it.
